Avatar - A New Beginning

Cameron wanted Avatar to release in 1999 but it was destined to release in 2009 and it created a wave of visual extravaganza. The story is embodied by the expert filmmaker, Cameron in a unique way by creating a never before seen world. As the movie ends you will feel like you have been brought back to planet earth, because when we are watching Avatar we are in Pandora. The plot of Avatar somewhat resembles with The Last Samurai and Dances with Wolves but it is a completely different ride in a magnificent world.

Jake Sully is an ex-marine who lost his legs, to make a fresh start he arrives Pandora to join Military. The business of the military is to bring humans in contact with the Na'vis. The mission of military is to relocate the blue colored Na'vis so that humans can use the large deposit of valuable minerals. Colonel Quarich who runs the operation, ask Jake Sully to go under cover as a Na'vi, to learn the secrets of Pandora and to win their trust so that humans can take the advantage. Jake Sully is moved by the beauty of Pandora and his heart gets lost to the Na'vi princess Neytiri. The film thus turns to a kind of light hearted adventure story. His loyalty to the humans starts to turn when he feels that humans would ruin the world of Pandora. Will he fight for the blue side?

The landscape of Pandora is the most creative and inventive of the decade. The creatures and plants you might find in your wildest dreams or your worst nightmares are beautifully shown in Avatar. Despite great visual effects of Avatar, creative world of Pandora and being latest in the film technology, Cameron uses typical old formula which works well. Avatar is one movie which will be known for years and it will also act as an inspiration for sci-fi genre movies.

My rating: 4/5
